Laughing Lion Lesson I: Echoes of Fire

Lesson I,
known also as "Echoes of Fire,"
of the Laughing Lion,
Dionysus 9=2

The Laughing Lion emerges from his cave to travel Downward; all Lions must travel Downward at some times, their blood needs re-boiling. A Lion is one who goes Downward into their own Depths, knowing their mind is no inert vessel to simply be filled but a dynamic, flashing flame to be ignited.

Yes, Lions visit Hell from time to time, but only for a small bit of Refreshment. Hell is the Core of the Earth, but that is where the Hidden Stone always abides. The Laughing Lion licks up lava-lakes of inspiration, heat-waves of Godhead pulsing uncontrollably; his Mane melts into the Sun, becoming One, both fans of Flame.

The Laughing Lion chews a black stone, the splinters of which contain the Averse words of Hell. On one of these Splinters is this First Lesson of the Laughing Lion...

What is Averse in the old Aeon is often Upright in the New


This lesson meets the Lion, combines with & is considered by Him, generating these Examples, called Echoes of Fire, having 3 parts:

i) Demon est Deus Inversus

Once people saw through a glass darkly, and through a mirror backwards. Some spit and a hammer, then! [1]

Outside of beginning & end, the Silence exists; and the Silence was with Myself; and the Silence is Myself. She was beyond beginnings & endings with Me. All things came into Becoming because of Me, and there is no Sound apart from the Silence. In Me is death, and death is the Light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness... doesn't care to comprehend! [2]

The Devil is the only one strong & proud enough to reach up to Heaven. Indeed (but truly in-heart), one must descend to the lowest nadir and scramble over the Devil's back... don't you know a way to the Highest is a piggy-back ride on the Lowest? [3]

I am a way, a truth, and a life; my way is the High Way, whose only entrance can be found by climbing up through underground tunnels. And those tunnels can only be dug with one's own blistered & hardened hands! [4]

A little bit of light blinds us from the Night of star-gods... infinite light blinds us from crossed-eyes and all 'things,' having thereby become a light-giving Star ourselves. Those with pure eyes are those who have eliminated "purity" and "impurity;" those with virtue are those who have eliminated "virtuousness" and "vice." Besides: A bit of impurity gives a stone its color, and vices are a convenient way to hold ourselves in place! [5]

Those who shall believe in me shall deny themselves - but whosoever wants a house to stand should not divide it against itself... therefore be skeptical of me and believe in oneself! [6]

ii) Saturn Stories

I heard once of Lords & Lambs... I heard once much talk about 'redemption' and 'retribution' and 'revenge' and places where moths and dust do not corrupt... Yet I am not a great fan of fiction (this world is far too interesting!). Give me Lions & Laughter and the victory-cry over fresh-spilled blood... of a Lamb!... Give me Corruption & Conflict. They call themselves 'moderate' but they are simply misspeaking the word 'mediocre:' what does one expect when one's mouth is filled with the un-chewed cud of 'sin' and 'salvation.' Didn't they ever learn to never speak with their mouths full?

Whoever spends time sweeping for lost coins is a miser... and misses the chance to put their purse to any use! I once had one hundred sheep following me until one went astray and got lost in the mountains. Verily, I followed it as "a good shepard," not in search of my one lost sheep, but in the hopes he had lured a Lion out of its den! The Lamb will certainly lay down with the Lion... as its dinner! Those with mouths to eat, let them eat! (Perhaps I am a wolf-lurer in sheep-tamer's clothing?) [7]

I once heard a creature proclaiming "Rejoice greatly & shout! behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." ..."He must have weak legs of his own, then!" I replied. Then I turned to look, yet only saw a bunch of asses. True Royalty doesn't desire reverence but bestows Kingship... desires new Self-Revered Ones.

I heard once heard a powerful voice say "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child" and I bellowed in delight... then he continued "but when I became a man, I put away childish things." Ah! and there was your error... As if "maturity" consisted in the oak cuttings off its own acorns! [8]

I once came upon people bent on their knees [9]; I looked down to meet their eyes and asked "What? Have you lost something?" Who exactly could stars themselves look up to? They seek only to Go & Bestow... and they don't even seek these, they simply exude them!

Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the songs of the air came and lifted it up to the Heavens. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, for its strength found roots even in hard places: And when the sun was up, it was chilled by the breeze; and because it found roots even in hard places, it grew tall. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and threatened it and through overcoming such threats, yielded voluminous fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred. But this fruit was soft and bruised, having known only a life of luxury. And he said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear [10]

iii) Winter Words

Foolish wisdom: Children believe the world is destroyed when their hands cover their eyes and recreated anew when they pull their hands away.

The lesser always ask for equality for the same reason a losing political party desires "bi-partisanship"... because thereby are the Haves brought down to the level of the Have-nots!

First Psalm of the Jester-Initiator: I walk in the counsel of the righteous, and turn them to paths of wickedness. I stand in the way of saints, and whisper secrets of sin. I sit in the seat of the friendly and mock their shallow "virtuousness." [11]

The darkness encompassed the light, but the light called it "Villain!" in incomprehension.

Only an idiotic (even insane?) potter would punish his pots for being deformed. [12]

If God is the Word I am the Guffaw.

Buddha's attaining of the pinnacles of Spiritual Insight did not spare him a death accompanied by severe diarrhea.
